I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska, surrounded by siblings and purple skies. My imagination is also my home.

My current working model is such: the imperative of therapy is to integrate what obstructs our connecting, dreaming, and creating selves; to expand our hearts and to repair the injustices of our world. Successful therapy, while rooted in the therapeutic relationship, extends beyond the two of us in a room. Our collective imaginings are greater than our suffering.

I began my work in mental health nearly 20 years ago on the inpatient milieu staff at a sub-acute care facility for children and teenagers. Since then, I have worked with children and adults in hospital, residential, community-based, and outpatient settings in New York, Washington, and Oregon.

I am influenced by psychodynamic and Jungian thinkers, somatic practices, and Black scholars and visionaries such as bell hooks and Octavia Butler. I am a Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and a licensed counselor in Oregon (LPC) and Washington (LMHC). I have completed Levels I and II of Brainspotting and am currently pursuing certification.

Alongside practicing therapy, I am a visual and performing artist, a parent, and a lover of my friends and partner. My work as a therapist is fueled by my perpetual curiosity about the human condition and ever shaped by my lived experiences. I am sustained by reading, singing, laughing, and of course, gummy candies.

“If we remain unable to imagine a world where love can be recognized as a unifying principle that can lead us to seek and use power wisely, then we will remain wedded to a culture of domination that requires us to choose power over love.”
